Day 98 - Two steps forward...
Kingaroy
When Kerstin complains of a headache, and willingly takes some analgesia, you know she is feeling pretty crap. It didn't take much convincing to stay in the home of Australian peanuts for another day. Leaving her to nap, I took off to on a mission to retrieve our postal votes, which we had sent to the Kingaroy Post Office. But the best laid plans never quite work out the way you expect. So some weird AustPost rule, about it being a letter, not a parcel, they were sent directly back to South Australia. Which kind of defeats the purpose of the postal vote, classic political misdirection! After a call to the AEC, we have a plan B, fingers crossed.
While the postal vote mission didn't quite work out, the plan to get our hands on some local peanuts was much more successful. A trip to The Peanut Van, luckily colocated with the Big Peanut was a grand success. The honey coated peanuts were fresh, large and delicious. So we, like 17th century Portuguese sailors, will carry peanuts on our journey.
As sun sets, and the the full moon rises, we make plans over dinner to head out tomorrow on the rail trail to Murgon. A nice day of leisurely riding, to ease back into it.
Keep rugged up girls. Last thing you need is a Flu or Cold. Looks like lovely country. Are you heading across to Gympie after Murgon? Check BOM and seems that you will have rain on and off. Keep well.
ReplyDeleteDespite it being wet/damp, it is not really cold! But the closer you get to the coast, the wetter it seems to be. We will bypass Gympie for this reason. And probably stay on the A3 hwy heading north. Once we are feeling 100% well, we will seek out a flu vax :)
